Life's Too Short for

WORD VERIFICATION
I have copied this from HEATHER (my FH mate's) blog tonight.... and good on you gal for voicing what lots of us feel and I couldn't agree more.....

"This is an appeal on behalf of busy bloggers. Please spare a thought for the poor bloggers who work so hard at getting round as many blogs as possible to leave sprinkles of pixie dust and good vibes wherever they go. The terrible proliferation of this awful plague of word verification is a blight on their efforts to make Blogland a cheerier place. So PLEASE (see.. it's a pretty please! lol)... Cancel word verification on your blogs! Have blog owner approval by all means, but word verification is a pain in the proverbial (insert appropriate noun here)!!!I know it is supposed to prevent spam, but I got rid of it on my blog some time ago, and I have only ever had to reject one single spam message.OK.. rant over. Thank you for putting up with it, and ~ obviously ~ do what you wish on your blogs, but I had to say SOMETHING!! I love to get around and leave comments, but this is driving me scatty!"

So come on folks....give it a try...it really does make life easier for all of us who love to pay you a visit and leave a comment.

  1. I couldnt agree more!! And well done Heather for speaking up. God only knows what you would do if you were dyslexic!! And lately, have you noticed that they are squeezing together as many of the letters as they can and they are even more unreadable. I understand WHY they do it but it is a real nuisance. Well done Kath for highlighting it xxxx

  4. I ended up putting the annoying things on my blog because of nasty people who put disgusting links in my comments. It was becoming a daily occurrence and I just couldn't stick it any more. The blog veri. has put a stop to that.

If you have a word that is too long or difficult to spell then press submit anyway and it will come up with another choice for you. By the third go at most you will have a nice easy one to read!

  5. I've been having the same problem. I hate the word verification thing and being someone who does have a very mild dyslexia I find it v.v.v hard to get the word right on other people's blogs. If I'm not concentrating it can take me quite a few attempts to get it right.

So I took it off my blog. But then was spamed by one of these automated spaming software things so put it back on. I was recently think about trying again without it and reading this plea has made up my mind to give it another go without the verification. - time will tell :)

  8. I couldn't have said it better. I took mine off awhile ago and haven't had any spammer problems. I hope I didn't just jinx myself.
    :)
    Take care,
    Christy

  9. I got rid of it on mine but did moderate all the comments for a while, that way could press the delete button before they got posted! now I just delete when I see something that shouldn't be there, but thankfully that's not often. I agree it's annoying for us who have to peer at the screen to make out the squigles, I've even been known to give up and exit! annie x

  10. Thank you for this... it is such a pain for me... I sub to 544 blogs and love to leave comments at times but the word verification stops me most of the time!!! Truly, unless I am REALLY inspired by something on a blog with WV I just skip commenting, period!
