This week we are showcasing our very own Simon Says Stamp Exclusive Products. You don't have to use them to join in, but if you have them we would love to see them used. We are also welcoming the lovely and talented Amber Sheaves as our Designer in the Spotlight for January. Amber was with us a few months ago and it's a pleasure to have her back again.
The theme for this week is...
SOMETHING NEW
we would like you to create something with 'New' in mind, New crafty goodies, New Home, New Baby etc.
I made a Happy New Year card for a friend who has just moved into a new home
I trimmed a piece of Distress Watercolor card to be slightly smaller than my 7" x 5" card blank, smooshed Wilted Violet and Black Soot Distress Oxides and Chipped Sapphire Distress Ink on to my non-stick craft mat, spritzed with water and pulled the card through the ink, dried, spritzed and then tapped the card back into the ink to pick up all the droplets.
I used the same inks with mini blending tools to intensive the colours, spritzed again with water followed by splatters of Brushed Pewter Distress Mica Spray and White Gesso.I used SSS Stitched Alphabet inked with Versamark and heat embossed with Black Embossing Powder to create the sentiment...
and coloured the letters with Distress Oxide re-inkers and the Brushed Pewter Mica Spray...
I die cut SSS Stitched Slopes and Hills from white cardstock to create the snowbanks and inked the edges with Chipped Sapphire Distress Ink...
I used Tim Holtz/Sizzix Alphanumeric Thinlits and SSS Silver Glitter Card to die cut 2018
and SSS Stars Parade for the sparkly stars
I die cut the trees using Tim Holtz/Sizzix Home For the Holidays Thinlits and the houses and small trees using SSS Village die from white cardstock...
At this point I decided that the Alphabet stamping didn't stand out very well from the dark background so I re-stamped the letters on to Distress Watercolor card, coloured some with Distress Oxide re-inkers and cut out.
I die cut extra teeny weeny stars from white cardstock and SSS Silver Glitter card using the die from Tim Holtz/Sizzix Snow Globe Thinlits.
