and the theme for this week is...
WINTER BLUES
I have two friends who celebrate birthdays in January so I decided to use Tim Holtz/Sizzix Gift Card Package Thinlits to make gift card holders with a Winter theme...
I die cut all the bits and pieces from white cardstock
coloured the pocket and bow on Gift Card Holder 1 with Faded Jeans Distress Oxide ink and stamped Mini Weathered Winter and Mini Swirly Snowflakes to create a tone-on-tone effect. I then stamped the insert and ribbon strips with Plaid from Plaid and Nordic with the same ink. On Gift Card Holder 2 I used the same stamps but reversed the stamping on the pocket, bow and insert to create a slightly different look.I stamped lots of Mini Swirly Snowflakes with Faded Jeans on to white card and die cut using the matching set of Framelits and used a small circle die from Sizzix Circles Framelits to die cut the centres from two of the snowflakes to create an accent for the bows.
I coloured some scrap white card with Vintage Photo Distress Oxide ink and die cut using Tim Holtz/Sizzix Festive Greens.
I used the flower centre die from Festive Greens to add interest to the centres of the snowflakes...
and added the small circle die cuts and flower centres to the bows.
I have a feeling this may well turn out to be one of my most-used dies not only for Christmas and Birthday Gifts but it could be used to hold a party invitation, a famly photo to send to Grandma or to announce the birth of a baby.
