Simon Says - Birthday Celebration

Hi Everyone...welcome to another week on the Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge Blog. Thank you for joining us for last week's challenge and we hope you can join us this week too because

and this week we are inviting you to join us for our 11th
Birthday Celebration
11 years, can you believe it, the time has flown by and we would like to say a huge thank you to all the crafters who have joined us over the years and we hope you will continue to do so.
As it's the first Monday of the month, the design team are showing a particular brand or company. This week we are all using fabulous products from AALL&Create. You don't have use these products to join in with the challenge but if you have them in your stash, we would love to see what you make with them.
This week I am delighted that we are welcoming my sweet and very special friend Anne Redfern aka Redanne into the Designer Spotlight. If you haven't visited her blog before, then you are in for a real treat.
I created a card using AALL&Create Heapza Hexagonz Stencil and Motivation Washi Tape, Tim Holtz/Sizzix Flower Field and Classic Lower Thinlits, Switchlits Seal Die and Embossing Folder and a new favourite colour combo of Prize Ribbon Distress Oxide Spray and Fossilized Amber Distress Spray Stain for the background.

began by trimming Distress White HeavyStock to measure 4.3/4" x 6.3/4", spritzed Prize Ribbon Distress Oxide Spray and Fossilized Amber Distress Spray Stain on to the craft mat on my glass media mat, spritzed with water and laid the panel on to the ink to pick up some colour. I dried and tapped the panel back on to the ink to pick up the remaining droplets.
I added strips of AALL&Create Motivation Washi Tape and applied Prize Ribbon and Fossilized Amber Distress Oxide inks through the Heapz Hexagons Stencil using mini round blending tools.
I die cut and embossed Distress White HeavyStock using Tim Holtz/Sizzix Seal Switchlits, coloured with the same colours of  Distress Oxides and added some stencilling detail.
I die-cut Tim Holtz/Sizzix Flower Field Thinlits from black cardstock, trimmed off the bottom section
and fixed in place along the strip of washi tape using Distress Collage Medium. I die-cut the numbers using Tim Holtz/Sizzix Alphanumeric Classic Lower Thinlits, fixed to the seal and add splatters of white gesso to the background.
To finish I matted the panel on to a 5" x 7" white card blank covered with black card.

I think the colour combination of Prize Ribbon and Fossilized Amber has become a new favourite and I'll be sharing 2 more cards soon made with the left over backgrounds from my fun "playing with Prize Ribbon" day.
