Simon Says - Happy Birthday

Hi Everyone...welcome to another week on the Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge Blog. Thank you for joining us for last week's challenge and we hope you can join us this week too because

The Monday Challenge team are celebrating their 13th Birthday this week, doesn't time fly when you're having fun. We would all like to say a huge thank you to all our fellow crafters for joining us over the years and we hope you will continue to do so. 

As it's the first Monday of the month, we are showcasing one particular brand/company and using fabulous products from AALL & Create. You don't have to use their products to join in the challenge but we would love to see what you make, if you have them in your stash.

We are also welcoming the lovely and talented Carrie Swift aka redfire studios. as our August Designer In The Spotlight and if you haven't visited her Instagram page yet, pop over, you are in for a treat.

Last but not least, the annual Kids Summer Vacation Challenge has begun over on Simon Says Wednesday Challenge Blog, open to kids aged 2 -16 inclusive and will run until 29th August with special Simon Says prize bags up for grabs. You can find all the details on how to enter HERE.

The theme for this week is, no surprise

HAPPY BIRTHDAY

I used AALL & Create Washi Tape and the Lotza Dots Stencil with Mustard Seed Distress Oxide ink and Distress Black Texture Paste to make a colourful background on my card and added Simon Says Sunrise Stem flowers and Bold Birthday Acetate Sentiment Strips.

I began by adding strips of AALL & Create Washi Tape to a 4" x 5.1/4" panel of Distress Watercolor card and applied a light skippy coat of White Gesso using the small Distress Brayer.

I applied Mustard Seed Distress Oxide ink through the AALL & Create Lotza Dots Stencil using a mini round blending tool and applied Distress Black Texture Paste through the small dotted sections of the stencil.

I die-cut Simon Says Sunrise Stem from Distress Watercolor card and coloured with Distress Oxide inks (colours listed in the links below) with Simon Says Detail Round Blending Brushes.

I die-cut a circle from the panel using Tim Holtz/Sizzix Stacked Tiles Circles, matted the panel on to an A2 white card blank, coloured inside the circle with Mustard Seed Distress Oxide ink and die-cut a frame using two of the circle dies cut from Distress Black HeavyStock.

Then I changed my mind and popped the die-cut back into the negative space popped up on black foam squares.

I fixed the die-cut flowers in place also popped up on black foam squares and added Simon Says Bold Birthday Acetate Sentiment Strips.

To finish, I added "13" using Gold Puffy Stickers that came with a Simon Says Card from many moons ago.
