Happy Tuesday my friends, I seem to be obsessed by the colour yellow at the moment, probably influenced by the glorious spring sunshine we've been having and the time I've enjoyed pottering in my garden. I created a card using Simon Says Lined Background, Mother Earth and Because Of You stamp sets and Mother's Day Flowers dies.
I inked the Lined Background stamp with a mix of Scattered Straw and Fossilized Amber Distress Oxide inks, spritzed lightly with water and stamped vertically and horizontally on to A2 panels of Distress Watercolor card (one will be set aside for use later)I inked the image from Simon Says Mother Earth with Versamark and Simon Says Intense Black ink and heat embossed with Simon Says White and Clear Embossing Powders.
I coloured the black embossed image with Prize Ribbon and Fossilized Amber Distress ink re-inkers using a Distress Detailer Brush, added white accents with a Sakura white Gelly Roll Pen, trimmed and fixed to the Lined Background using Distress Collage Medium.
I fixed Sizzix Adhesive Sheet to the back of a scrap of Vellum, stamped the sentiment from Simon Says Because Of You, inked with Versamark ink and heat embossed with Simon Says White Embossing Powder. I trimmed around the sentiment, removed the backing sheet and fixed in place. I stamped the second sentiment from the same set, inked with Prize Ribbon Distress Oxide ink and heat embossed with Simon Says Clear Embossing Powder. At this stage, I had a little accident when I dropped the Prize Ribbon ink pad on the card, leaving a blue smudge in the bottom left corner and hey no way was I starting over so I trimmed the panel down to 3.3/4" x 5", die-cut daisies from Distress Watercolor card using Simon Says Mother's Day Flowers dies, added the centres coloured with Fossilized Amber Distress Oxide ink and fixed in place with Distress Collage Medium.
To finish I coloured the edges of the panel with Fossilized Amber Distress Oxide ink using a Distress Blending Tool and matted on to an A2 white card blank.
I don't know about you but I'm finding it hard to believe we are in to the last week of April already and before we know month No 5 will be here. Time flies and time and tide wait for no man and the list of things to do in the garden, in the house and the cubbyhole never gets any shorter. Have fun with whatever you are creating and I'll be back soon to share more projects and no doubt, more philosophical words of wisdom.
Hugs Kath xxx
