Hi Everyone...welcome to another week on the Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge Blog. Thank you for joining us for last week's challenge and we hope you can join us this week too because
It's the first challenge of the month when we showcase products from one company or brand and this month the team are using products from PaperArtsy.
We are also welcoming the lovely and talented Cassie Lynch aka mk knits as our April Designer In The Spotlight, if you are not familiar with her work, go visit her Instagram account, you will not be disappointed.
The theme for this week is...
EASTER/SPRING
I created a Hello There Spring card using the gorgeous Woven 3D Texture Fade on the background, Bold Text 2 for the sentiment, decorated with Brushstroke Butterflies from Tim Holtz/Sizzix Chapter 2 release and Funky Nature Thinlits, coloured with PaperArtsy Infusions.
I began by trimming Distress Watercolor card to 4.3/4" x 6.3/4", coloured with Scattered Straw Distress Oxide ink and die-cut using Tim Holtz/Sizzix Bold Text 2 Thinlits. I spritzed the back of the panel with water and embossed using Tim Holtz/Sizzix Woven 3D Texture Fade. I fixed double sided adhesive behind the Bold Text letters to hold them in place, die-cut again twice from Distress Watercolor card back with Sizzix Adhesive Sheets and fixed on top to create dimension.
I coloured 4 - A2 panels of Distress Watercolor card with PaperArtsy Infusions (colours listed below in the supplies list). I sprinkled a little of the powder on to the card panels, spritzed with water to let the ink spread, dried and repeated until I was happy with the colours.
I die-cut the Bold Text sentiment again from the panel on the bottom right and fixed in place with Distress Collage Medium.
To add a little more interest to the background, I applied Distress Texture Paste Matte through the Tim Holtz/Stampers Anonymous Wildflower Mini Layering Stencil from Set 10, sprinkled lightly with Fossilized Amber, Tattered Rose and Peeled Paint Embossing Glazes and once the paste had dried, heat set.
I die-cut the Tim Holtz/Sizzix Brushstroke Butterflies from the Infusions panelsand assembled following the picture on the packaging. All the pieces for each individual butterfly are on one die so it is easy to see where the extra pieces fit on each butterfly. I sprinkled Sunset Beach Infusions powder on to my glass media mat, spritzed with water and added splatters using Tim Holtz Distress Splatter Brush.
I die-cut the flowers and foliage from the remaining panels using Tim Holtz/Sizzix Funky Nature Thinlits
assembled and fixed to the panel using Distress Collage Medium and foam adhesive to create dimension.
I added a Tim Holtz Idea-ology ChitChat Sticker and inked around the edges of the panel with Ground Espresso Distress Ink using a mini round blending tool.
To fiinish I matted the panel on to a 5" x 7" white card blank.
