Simon Says - Sweet Treats

Hi Everyone...welcome to another week on the Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge Blog. Thank you for joining us for last week's challenge and we hope you can join us this week too because

and the theme for this week is...
SWEET TREATS
I decided to give some love to some older Tim Holtz products, Sizzix Sweet Treats, Funky Wreath and Alphanumeric Tiny Type Lower Thinlits and Stampers Anonymous Blockprint stamp set and Mini Layering Stencils from Set 6 and Set 8 to make Spring/Easter themed cards. But this Mrs Organised was distracted by the arrival of a very Happy Mail package and set to work setting up my new Media Grip system. Oh boy I can't tell you how much I love the new Media Grip from Tim Holtz/Tonic Studios, it really does do what it says on the tin, grips on to your ink pads while you're working, but it does so much more and my adorable Professor explains all, over on his blog HERE. It truly is one of those "where have you been all my life-game changer-right tool for the job" products.
Media Grip and Simon Says A4 Storage Pockets
trimmed to use with card panels, stencils and ink pads
trimmed to fit my trusty Stamp Platforms, woohoo no need for magnets anymore
Now back to the cards

began by applying Saltwater Taffy and Evergreen Bough Distress Oxide inks through the Mini Layering Stencils using mini round blending tools on panels of Distress Watercolor card to create soft backgrounds.
I edged the panels with a light blend of Scattered Straw and Mustard Seed Distress Oxide inks, spritzed lightly with water and dried. I stamped the sentiments using Tim Holtz/Stampers Anonymous Blockprint and Simon Says Life Is A Party, inked with Black Soot Distress Archival.
I coloured Distress Watercolor  card with Mustard Seed and Evergreen Bough Distress Oxide inks and die-cut using Tim Holtz/Sizzix Funky Wreath Thinlits.
I fixed Sizzix Adhesive Sheet to Distress Watercolor card and die-cut using Tim Holtz/Sizzix Sweet Treats Thinlits. The die-cuts will remain in place which makes it easier when it comes to colouring.
I coloured Sweet Treats with Saltwater Taffy, Scattered Straw, Mustard Seed, Wild Honey Distress Oxides and Vintage Photo Distress Ink using mini round blending tools, removed from the carrier sheet and assembled.
I fixed the Funky Wreath die-cuts in place with Distress Collage Medium and popped the Sweet Treats up on foam adhesive to create dimension. I applied a little Wild Honey Distress Oxide ink around the edges to brighten and completed the sentiments using Tim Holtz/Sizzix Alphanumeric Tiny Type Lower Thinlits cut from Alcohol Ink Black Cardstock, backed with Sizzix Adhesive Sheet.
As always, the right tools for the job make life easier and my trusty squeezers from Tim Holtz/Sizzix Shaping Kit and certainly fall into that category, making the placement of these itty bitty letters a breeze.
I covered up the die-cut focal points and splattered with Black Soot Distress Paint. To finish I matted the panels on to A2 white card blanks, ready to give to friends with bags of Easter Sweet Treats, including one for my amazing FedEx friend who will be delivering a special package today.
