Simon Says - Stitch It

Hi Everyone...welcome to another week on the Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge Blog. Thank you for joining us for last week's challenge and we hope you can join us this week too because

It’s the first Monday of the month and that means we are showcasing one particular brand/company. This week we are all using some fabulous products from AALL & CREATE. You don’t have to use them to join in with the challenge but if you have them we would love to see them used.
We are also welcoming the lovely Lori E Kennedy aka @cfr8ive_lori as our Designer In The Spotlight. If you haven't visited her before on Instagram, pop over, you will be in for a real treat.
The theme for this week is...
STITCH IT
I created a card using Tim Holtz/Sizzix Christmas CutOuts Thinlits from the new Holiday release along with Media MarksThinlits to create faux stitching and used AALL&Create Lotza Dots stencil to add a punch of colour on the background.

I trimmed Distress Watercolor card to 4" x 5.1/4" and used Antique Linen and Evergreen Bough Distress Oxide inks to colour the background. I applied Candied Apple Distress Oxide ink through the AALL & Create Lotza Dots stencil using a mini round blending tool.
At this stage I wished I had created a moon for the background so rather than starting over, I die-cut a circle roughly the same size as the medium Moon from Tim Holtz/Stampers Anonymous Moon Mask Stencils, coloured with Antique Linen Distress Oxide ink, trimmed off a section at the bottom and fixed to the panel with Distress Collage Medium.
I applied Distress Snowfall Grit Paste through Tim Holtz/Stampers Anonymous Snowflakes Layering Stencil and while the paste was wet, applied Distress Platinum Glitter using the Stampers Anonymous Glitter Duster and set aside to dry.
I die-cut the banner from the background using Tim Holtz/Sizzix Christmas CutOuts Thinlits.
and die-cut the word peace from the banner
I added Simon Says Schoolhouse Red cardstock behind the panel and fixed the banner back in place. I die-cut the houses and trees from the red card and card coloured with Antique Linen/Evergreen Bough. I added stars die-cut from Distress Watercolor card and the tree in the centre of the word "peace" from card covered with Distress Vintage Platinum Glitter.
Do you ever have days when you forget to switch on your brain, yes, well this was one of mine. I had gone completely off piste forgetting that the theme this week was Stitch It. But, rather than look out my sewing machine, I reached for my Tim Holtz/Sizzix Media Marks Thinlits and used the little stitches and crosses to create some faux stitching  - a bit fiddly diddly for sure but hey, desperate times call for desperate measures.

To finish I matted the panel on an A2 white card blank and added an Idea-ology Christmas Label Sticker.
