Stump The Snowman Meets Distress Mica Stains

Hi my friends, I'm sharing a card using the adorable but vertically challenged Stump the Snowman from Tim Holtz/Sizzix Twig and Stump Thinlits along with Distress Mica Stains from the Tim Holtz/Ranger Holiday release and the gorgeous Deco Sheets from the Idea-ology Christmas release which Tim will be launching officially on Saturday 16th at 9am PT, 12pm ET and 5pm UK over on his YouTube Channel. Poor little Stump is struggling to get that star on top of the tree and I can relate to that, constantly having to flutter my eyelashes at tall male customers or staff in my local M&S and don't get me started on the problems of reaching the overhead lockers on flights.

Inspired by one of Tim's demos from the Ranger Holiday release YouTube Live (if you missed it, you can catch up HERE) I applied Distress Snowfall Grit Paste through the Tim Holtz/Stampers Anonymous Falling Stars Layering Stencil on to an A2 panel of Distress Watercolor card, added Distress Rock Candy Glitter using the Glitter Duster and set aside to dry.I masked off the bottom of the panel, spritzed with Speckled Egg Distress Spray Stain and Winter Frost Distress Mica Stain. I stood the panel up in my Splat Box, spritzed generously with water letting the colour run down the panel and dried.I die-cut the tree from Distress Watercolor card using the Twig and Stump Thinlits and coloured by spritzing with Peeled Paint Distress Spray Stain and Fresh Balsam/Wicked Elixir Distress Mica Stain.I die-cut Stump from Idea-ology Black KraftStock and Distress Watercolor cardI die-cut the parcels and Twig's hat to use as a pot for the tree from Idea-ology Deco Sheets and Gold Metallic KraftStockI fixed the parcels and pot for the tree in place with Distress Collage Medium and added the snowman and tree popped up on foam squares to add dimension. I fixed Sizzix Adhesive Sheet to the back of brown cardstock and die-cut the snowman arms 3 times, layered and fixed in place.I applied Distress Snowfall Grit Paste along the snowy area and added Distress Rock Candy Glitter using the Glitter Duster. Once it had dried, I applied a light coat of Distress Collage Medium and sprinkled with Distress Mica Flakes.I die-cut the hat and scarf from the red Deco Sheet and Distress Watercolor card, added the carrot nose coloured with Carved Pumpkin and Spiced Marmalade Distress inks, the star die-cut from Gold Idea-ology Metallic KraftStock, sprinkled with Distress Tinsel Glitter and added shading on the snowman using Winter Frost Distress Mica Stain and a Distress Detailer Brush

I added Idea-ology Christmas Droplets to the tree and check out all that gorgeous shimmery sparkle.I attached Idea-ology Christmas Remnant Rubs to white card, trimmed and fixed to the panel using Distress Collage Medium.  I added another star die-cut from Idea-ology Gold Metallic KraftStock, covered with Distress Collage Medium, sprinkled with Distress Tinsel Glitter and brushed away the excess once it was dry.I trimmed the panel to 4" x 5.1/4" and fixed to an A2 white card blank.

Have fun with whatever you are making
Hugs Kath xxx
