Simon Says - Art Journal

Hi Everyone...welcome to another week on the Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge Blog. Thank you for joining us for last week's challenge and we hope you can join us this week too because

and the theme for this week is...

ART JOURNAL

I created a page in my Dylusions Media Journal using Tim Holtz/Stampers Anonymous Floral Trims and typography from The Inspector on the background, Tim Holtz Eclectic Elements Embark Fabric to decorate and Sizzix Alphanumeric Emporium Thinlits for the page title.

I began by spritzing Tumbled Glass and Evergreen Bough Distress Oxide Sprays on the right hand page of the journal, spritzed with water and dried to create a light coloured background.

I inked the Tim Holtz/Stampers Anonymous Floral Trims with Vintage Photo Distress Archival and the typography from The Inspector with Black Soot Distress Archival and holding the stamps in my hands, stamped randomly on to the background.

I trimmed one of the panels from Tim Holtz Embark Eclectic Elements Melange fabric, ripped the edges to create a frayed look and fixed to the page with Distress Collage Medium.

I cut out the butterfly image from the fabric, fixed in place with Distress Collage Medium and added a strip of the wording from the selvedge edge.

I added torn strips and small squares of the fabric, the word EMBARK from the selvedge edge and applied Distress Texture Crackle Paste through the Tim Holtz/Stampers Anonymous Everyday Art Elements Stencil.

I applied Distress Collage Medium over the page, added shadows around the fabric elements and the crackled sections using Walnut Stain Distress Crayon with a damp blending brush and added Tim Holtz/Idea-ology Design Tape

I die-cut the page title from scraps of Distress Cracked Leather cardstock using Tim Holtz/Sizzix Alphanumeric Emporium Thinlits and fixed in place with Distress Collage Medium.

To add a little pop of red to the page, I added Trinity Stamps Candy Heart Sprinkle Embellishments.
