Hi Everyone...welcome to another week on the Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge Blog. Thank you for joining us for last week's challenge and we hope you can join us this week too because
and the theme for this week is...
WATERCOLOUR
I made a card inspired by the profusion of poppies in my garden using Tim Holtz/Stampers Anonymous Floral Trims, water coloured with Distress Re-inkers, Note Quotes for the sentiment and decorated with Tim Holtz/Idea-ology Long Fasteners and Transparent Wings.
I trimmed Distress Grey Two Tone Woodgrain card into 3/4" strips, inked the edges and woodgrain detail lightly with Vintage Photo Distress Ink using a mini round blending tool and fixed the strips to white card using Distress Collage Medium. I inked the Floral Trims image with Versafine Black ink and stamped on to the panel, basically for the stems because I had no intentin of trying to fussy cut them out. (Ignore the embossing powder, I had changed my mind on that idea)
I stamped the image again on to Distress Watercolor card, wet each part of the image generously with water, dropped in Fossilized Amber and Rustic Wilderness Distress Re-inkers and let the water work it's magic.
I fussy cut the petals and leaves and fixed on top of the original image using foam squares to add dimension. I added splatters using the left over Distress Re-inkers and applied Distress Crackle Paste Opague through the Everyday Art Dots Element Stencil.
I stamped the circle image from Tim Holtz/Styampers Anonymous on to the woodgrain panel and again on to a scrap of Distress Watercolor card. I coloured with the Fossilized Amber Distress Re-inker, dried, stamped the sentiment, fussy cut and fixed to the panel with Foam Squares.
I attached Tim Holtz/Idea-ology Long Fasteners, fixed the panel to Distress BlackOut card trimmed to leave a 1/4" border around the edge and used a Sakura Black Glaze Pen to accentuate and add dimension to the flower stamens.
I fixed Tim Holtz/Idea-ology Transparent Wings to the panel with Ranger Glossy Accents applied on the body section only and once dry, pulled the wings up to create dimension. To finish, I matted the panel on to a white card blank.
