Simon Says - Sun, Moon, Stars

Hi Everyone...welcome to another week on the Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge Blog. Thank you for joining us for last week's challenge and we hope you can join us this week too because

and the theme for this week is...

SUN, MOON, STARS

I chose the sun as the theme for my card, inspired by the recent Summer sunshine. I used Tim Holtz/Stampers Anonymous Tiny Prints for the background, Sizzix Layered Plaid, Alphanumeric Bulletin and Wildflower Stems 1 Thinlits and Idea-ology Specimen Remnant Rubs to decorate.

I inked the Tiny Prints background stamp with Mustard Seed, Fossilized Amber and Wild Honey Distress Oxide inks, spritzed with water and stamped on to a 4.3/4" x 6.3/4" panel of Distress Watercolor card.

I die-cut the Tim Holtz/Sizzix Layered Plaid from Distress Watercolor card, coloured with Vintage Photo Distress ink using the direct to paper technique, trimmed and fixed in diagonal corners using Distress Collage Medium.

I die-cut the Tim Holtz/Sizzix Alphanumeric Bulletin from Distress Watercolor card, coloured with Twisted Citron Distress Spray Stain and Peeled Paint Distress Oxide Spray and Brown Idea-ology Classic KraftStock and fixed to the right hand side of the panel.

I die-cut Tim Holtz/Sizzix Wildflower Stems 1 Thinlits 6 times from Distress Watercolor card, layered to create dimension, coloured using my Distress Watercolor Pencils palette and a Detailer Brush and added splatters of Ground Espresso from the palette.

I added Idea-ology Specimen Remnant Rubs to the background.

I added the Wildflower Stems die-cuts popped up on small pieces of foam squares.

I fixed Idea-ology Label Letters to a scrap of Distress Watercolor card, trimmed and sanded around the edges. Label Letters are now a discontinued product but they have been a favourite of mine and I stocked up, I think I may enough of these little booklets to last me for the rest of my life.

I added splatters of Picket Fence Distress Paint and fixed the panel to a 5" x 7" Distress Kraft HeavyStock card.
