The sun has got his hat on..hip..hip..hip...hooray

The weather never fails to amaze me......after a very wet and very windy night...woke up this morning to a dark dismal and rainy day....but in true "you can never depend on the weather forecast" style...the sun came out and it's the most gorgeous day....who would have thought......OK it's feeling Septemberish but the flowers in the garden don't seem to have picked up on the drop in temperature......just take a peek at these beauties lifting their heads to the sun. We have a new visitor to the garden...Robbie the robin...convinced it's the same one that's been coming to live with us over the winter year after year...will try and get a piccie..he is gorgeous.....all chubby and round...just like the robins you see on Christmas cards.
And speaking of Christmas cards.....today I have been working with snowflakes...bling and glitter and here is a sneaky peek.....isn't she just so cute......off to do the boy version now and then a visit to the dentist..guaranteed to spoil my day.
  • Papers: Colour My World..Winter Wonderland
  • Image: hand drawn by me, cut out and then paper pieced
  • Sentiment: from the computer
  • Snowflakes: Cuttlebug Die
  • Name: Cricut George and Basic Shapes cut at 1"
Well back to the production line.....need to get as much done today as I can.......Brodie and Oliver are coming to play at Grandma's tomorrow.....so that's a "no crafty" day then and then it's Saturday once again and time for "Penny Black Saturday".......where does the week go......have a great day wherever you are.....Love..Kath xxxxxxx
P.S. To answer a question posted by Becky "how did I glitter my letters".....I painted the letters and the snowflakes with a fine liner brush using a product called Satin Varnish Sealer and then coated them with the best glitter money can buy.....GLAMOUR DUST......(both products are from Decoart) ...I have never found another glitter on the market to compare (not even Art Institute). The varnish dries clear and sets so there is no shedding - just like a thinner version of Glossy Accents. I used to use both these products when I taught ceramics never thinking that they would come in useful in my cardmaking.

  6. Stunning, Kath!! Love it!

Was inspired by your very pretty, large and lacy snowflake stamp to buy something similar. Found a large Penny Black one. Yet to be inked, but hope to in the next few days!

It's so gorgeous! How have you got the sparkly letters? Have you cut from glitter card or glittered yourself, they look so sparkly! I love robins! I saw one the other day just off the main road near the supermarket, he looked too beautiful to be there, much better in your gorgeous garden!!
