With great intentions I headed for the cubbyhole all set to get cracking with the crafty stuff when...
CUE VERY SCARY MUSIC...
the biggest fattest spider with great long spindly legs raced across my non stick craft mat and took cover under my Fiskars trimmer...crikey no way was I staying in the same room with that eight legged monster and why is my "spider putter outsider" (hubby) never there when I need his services. In desperation I grabbed an empty jar hoping to trap him for release into the garden later and you would have been so proud of this terrified old crafter when I threw all thoughts of personal safety to the wind and gingerly lifted the trimmer but HE WAS GONE...I dropped the trimmer to the floor just in case he was hanging on for dear life in some hidden recess BUT NO...OMG where was he...was he sitting looking at me with his big bulgy eyes just waiting to pounce...well I was out of there faster than was good for my little old legs...blimey I would have left Usain Bolt standing in my sprint to safety closing the cubbyhole door behind me...I've no idea what good that was going to do...I'm sure he was already planning his escape through the microscopic gap. Animal lover I certainly am but anything with more than 4 legs does NOT feature on my list of cubbyhole companions so I'll be spending the day out here...
enjoying the blue sky sunshiney weather with a far more friendly companion while hubby hunts him down or scours every nook and cranny to make sure he's no longer resident in my crafty space
See you all tomorrow
Hugs Kath xxx
Much better idea to sit in the sunshine.
ReplyDeleteI hate spiders so I wouldn't be going back until the location had been proved to be 'spider-free'.
Toni xx
Good for you!! I would have done the same ... enjoy the sunshine.
ReplyDeleteEnjoy the day...I hate spiders too.
ReplyDeleteI always am the one they bite! It can be painful too...you were wise to run for the garden! lol
Hi Kath, oh dear not too bad with spiders, but mice omg I would run for the hills. Enjoy the sun with lovely Buddy x
ReplyDeleteWell you do surprise me, would have thought you would deal with a spider, they don't bother me unless they are really big but I still catch them and put them out, hope hubby finds it
ReplyDeleteooooo spiders - they don't worry me but if there had been a snake .... I feel your pain xx
ReplyDeleteOh yuck, I hate and am terrified of spiders too.... I hope he has vacated the cubby hole by now and that you can get back in there... but I would send hubby in first to investigate...... Hugs, Anne xx
ReplyDeleteI can't even go near enough to catch them, wayyy too many legs for my liking xxx
ReplyDeleteIt's a shame it was a non-stick craft mat Kath!!! He'll be hiding in a box somewhere, or tucked underneath your desk!
ReplyDeleteI'm not too afraid of spiders (depends on the size) but most of the time I'm glad our cats are very interested and try to catch them. I saw a earwig this morning (in the garage) and oh boy, these animals really gives me the creeps.
ReplyDeleteI missed the Wimbledon Final on Sunday. I'm sorry for Roger (but maybe next year) and I so agree on your remark about the footballplayers. Unfortunately here in the Netherlands footballmania still goes on.

My first ever dog, Patch used to kill spiders for me. I can't even bring myself to get close enough to pop a jar over the top. She's chase them down and chew them and spit them out. I'd then pluck up my courage to pick up dead spider to bin it. Sadly she is no longer with us and Anni our Lab is off as soon as she spots movement...........
ReplyDeleteHi Kath, I didn't think the spiders would bother you, but I suppose we'd all scared of something creepy and crawly. I don't like to kill any insects, they must be here for a purpose besides frightening us. Hope the sun shone on you today...Trish
ReplyDeleteYou were very brave Kath. There's no way I'd have gone for a jar - I'd have been out of there as soon as I first spied it!
