Hi folks...Summer has returned to my neck of the woods...three cheers...I was beginning to think that the few days of sun we had in June were going to be our lot for the year and it's taken much willpower not to slope off the garden to stock up on some Vitamin D...
instead I've been been cracking on with the door painting marathon...focused on the hunky joiners returning to fit the stair rails and spindles yesterday and thinking that the new stair carpet could be laid within a week and bingo...Kevin McCloud would be so proud of me...the Grand Design would evenutally be complete. Sadly I'm no further forward...the joiners got stuck on another job and will not be paying me a visit until the end of July when Chief Hunky Joiner returns from holiday...not what I wanted to hear but there's no point in throwing myself kicking and screaming onto the floor...a Mrs Grumpy Knickers tantrum ain't going to make it happen.
The good news is I'm foot loose and fancy free for the rest of July...planning a long weekend away treat to recharge the old batteries...looking forward to spending time with the grandkiddies in the school holidays and kicking up my heels with the Friday girls on retail therapy days out picking up bits and pieces for the refurbished hall and hey maybe back to the cubbyhole for a little bit of crafting.
I'll see you all tomorrow to share what I made for this month's Fiskars Summer Holiday Newsletter.
Hugs Kath xxx
Hi Kath, yes looks like summer is back with us. Sure you will find plenty to do enjoy your day x
ReplyDeleteAND.... it leaves you free to watch more tennis too.
ReplyDeleteYour sneak peek looks beautiful, look forward to seeing the rest. Hugs, Anne xx
A late hunky joiner is better than no hunky joiner. Enjoy the break from the DIY!!
ReplyDeleteObviously not what you wanted to happen but take advantage of the sun whilst we have it.

Hi Kath, joiners are now like hens teeth, so many new houses being built up here. Here's hoping our sunshine and heat will return soon, it's raining just now but the ground does need it...Trish
ReplyDeleteglad you're going to be making the most of the lack of hunky joiners - it must be frustrating but there's always a silver lining xx
