Allsorts Challenge....Take 2

Hi folks....I am back with my card for the Allsorts Challenge.....this is Take 2.....yes I have read the instructions (over and over) and am confident that I have got it right this time.
The challenge has been set by my lovely and mega talented Funky Hand teamie Jules and sponsored this week by Funky Hand

NEW or OLD
(plus a sketch)
the idea being to use some of the crafting goodies you got for Christmas or some of your old stash
Just like Jules I didn't get any crafty goodies in my Christmas stocking.....I'm afraid my family haven't got a clue when it comes to crafty stuff.....Hero Arts....Penny Black.....Funky Hand.....means nothing to them....so normally I treat myself.....my Christmas present to me and this year I just had to have some gorgeous stamps from Hero Arts brand new 2010 catalogue....and this flower is so gorgeous that it would be lost on a patterned background so I just used up some itty bitty scraps left over from playing with Anice's fabulous "Dreams Come True" CD.

Papers: Funky Hand "Dreams Come True" CD
Image: Hero Arts Cling Stamp....Engraved Flower
Ribbon & Gems from stash
Sentiment: Craftwork Cards.....Oh My Word
finished off the flower with a spray of Gold Glimmer Mist
and then a dusting of Gold Glamour Dust

and what seemed a good idea at the time.....covered the centre of the flower with those pesky micro beads....blimey these little devils have a mind of their own......the minute they see daylight they make a dash for freedom and end up everywhere...even using my tidy tray.....now I know why I haven't used them for years.
And talking of Christmas treats....I am eagerly awaiting the arrival of my lovely over-worked postie with a parcel of  Promarkers from Angel Crafts......I have booked myself in for a workshop at Simply Create on 16th January....my fabulous bloggy bud  Debz....the queen of the old PM's is demonstrating how to use these fabulous pens and I couldn't turn up with nothing to colour with.....could I.....it's now fully booked....so lucky I managed to get my bum on a seat and am really looking forward to it......knowing Debz it will be a real fun time......just hope that the weather improves before then.....heavy snowfall again last night and after clearing the driveway yesterday this was the scene when I got up this morning........forget the car....may have to think about getting a sled and a dog team......that would be fun wouldn't it.

Well the holiday is over folks.....and I need to get down to some serious work......may need to get the old whip out and the coffee pot brewing.....and find that lazy beggar Mr Mojo....where is he hiding?
Catch up with you all later
Hugs Kath xxxxx

  1. Beautiful stamp the detail is fab. I avoid micro beads and loose glitter for exactly the same reason!

  6. Wow Kath this is a real stunning card - that flower is gorgeous. The snow is really piling up here today - think it's the thickest we've had it so far! I just love how clean and fresh everything looks it makes up for all the inconvenience lol.

  7. I adore that stamp Kath your card is fabulous. Looks like you have your Mojo to me.
I can't wait to buy some new stash but have to wait until I return from my hols.

My sister in Manchester sent me a photo of the snow there and it is deep too. think it is making its way down here. Heavy Frost here at the moment everything looks white and glistening.

  8. Well, if that card is anything to go by, Mr Mojo is alive and well and living in Kath's cubbyhole!

How do you think Buddy would take to a dog team? Would he be out in front, or curled up in your cubbyhole while you get on with the mushing? ;o)

    Hugs,
    Chris xx

  10. What a beautiful card. So understated and elegant. I'm glad to hear I'm not the only one who lives in a crafty wastleand as far as everyone else is concerned. I got ONE craft book!? Fortunately, hubby saw the error of his ways and let me "pig out" at the Sizzix sale so its not ALL bad....thank heavens for good old fashioned GUILT! Lauren x

have had a thought - what if we get snowed in at Simply Create.... what a treat eh?

Even if I have to put on my skis I'll be going, if only to get away from my kids - not enjoying these extended holidays with the schools closed

  15. Kath,
Love your card. That flower is stunning. I too got a couple Hero Arts stamps for myself this year. LOL My family doesn't have a clue either. However I didn't get that one, but by spending 20.00 on hero arts stamp I got the big catalog for free... Made my day! Those beads are the perfect touch

  20. Hi Kath
As always another gorgeous card. I love the elegance and simplicity of it and the micro beads although a pain really finish it off beautifully. (I have just been onto the Allsorts blog to leave DT comments and can't see this uploaded on there so you might want to check that - wouldn't want you to miss out on the draw)
    Have a great day.
    Take care

  22. Hi Kath

    Simply stunning!!

It just shows you don't need multiple layer upon layer upon layers to produce something gorgeous. I love it!!

In fact that stamp is now going to have to go on my shopping list.

Thank you for playing along with the Allsorts challenge again this week!

    Love Jules xx

Whee that is some amount of snow, the Broch has just turned a bit like this but not so much in Peterhead, am getting a lift to work - it's driving me mental literally!!

Aye tie a sled to buddy and whizz of down the slopes to get your milk!!! LOl

You will love your Pro Boys, it's a different way of colouring for sure, watched a few tutorials on line at the weekend using Copics and Pro M's.. quite like the look of Copics but sooo expensive!!

You are spot on with this one right down to the sketch.

Your card is just beautiful in it's sheer simplicity. But how did I miss that flower when I was drooling over the Hero delivery ?

Thanks for joining in the fun at Allsorts this week.
