Playing with Paper Couture...

Hi folks...I'm back in the cubbyhole ready to tackle the Fiskars Christmas Marathon again and the weather looks like it could be a repeat of yesterday with the wind blowing right down from the North Pole and rain like stair rods so I'm looking forward to a snug as a bug in a rug kind of a day with my furry sleeping partner snuggled up at my feet.
I've been having a little play with the Paper Couture Collection from Craftwork Cards...the papers are predominantly pink but there are also some gorgeous papers with a hint of aqua/blue so it was a great excuse to cut into the huge bundle of spotty cotton fabric that came home with me from the Fiskars Stand at Stitches and warm up the sewing machine ready for today's crafty Christmas adventure...

And I know you are all sitting with bated breath waiting for news of yesterday's expedition to John Lewis...yes I did make it and silly moi for thinking I would walk in and see a huge photo of Mr H suspended from the ceiling pointing right to the goodies...sadly no...they took a bit of hunting down let me tell you but being the "dog with a bone" addict that I am...I finally managed to root them out in a corner of the fashion fabrics/haberdashery section with Cath Kidson on one side and pyschedelic flowery bolts on the other....seriously John Lewis where are your merchandising skills...
and with a few more bits and pieces from The Papeterie...the shopping list is complete...
Mr Buble will be playing on a loop all day in the cubbyhole and if I can persuade Mr Mojo to join the party...we'll be ready to rock 'n roll.
See you all tomorrow

  1. Good Morning Kath. Fabulous creation, love all the sewing memorabilia. They bring back great memories for me. Thanks for the heads up that John Lewis keep TH fabrics by the metre. Enjoy your Day. Hugs Rita xxx

  2. Morning Kath and Buddy, what a stunning, card, I do love the fabrics, just wish I could thread my machine, LOL. hugs to you both xxx

  3. oooo so glad you took pictures of that fabulous fabric - guess I'll have to pay them a visit now! wonderful card Kath - hope the christmas marathon goes well xx

  4. Now I am wishing I had not bought all those small little pieces of TH fabric....still, they are brilliant for covering notebooks.

Love the card, it looks beautiful with real fabric, looking forward to seeing your Christmas makes now. Hugs, Anne xx

  5. A gorgeous card, the design is brilliant and I love the sewing theme.

  6. Beautiful card Kath.

The fabric is fabulous. My nearest JL is at the Westfield shopping centre in Stratford and their fabric section isn't that brilliant. To be honest, the whole of their 'crafting' area is little more than a large walk-in cupboard.

    Have fun with your purchases.

    Toni xx

  7. yum yum... the TH fabric I need it ...the pic is wonderful...Love your card & the fabric backing... Beautiful...

  8. Hi Kath, lovely card and the material's beautiful. Looking forward to seeing your Christmas makes. Hopefully you had a lovely sunny day like us today...Trish

  9. Love that card with all the sewing embellishments. Glad you found the fabric. John Lewis have no respect ... Jan

  10. Hi Kath...we have the same weather here...Its just no fun !!!

Your card is absolutely beautiful as always. Thanks for the JL info....we have to let them low that this should be out front !!

Look forward to viewing your crafty makes with the TH Fabrics. I have a lovely chair and standard lamp recovered and they look fabulous.
