Papertake Weekly Challenge....Sketch 31

Morning folks and I think it's just as well I didn't make any New Year Resolutions....such as getting my challenge cards done in plenty of time because once again here I am skidding in by the seat of my pants at the last minute.
The challenge this week over at Papertake Weekly is another fabby sketch from my lovely bloggy bud....Dawny P
Had to make a male birthday card......no hobbies as such.....so that ruled out Football....Golf etc....so I thought I would use the gorgeous papers that I got from my last Stampin Up order...and the "Lovely As a Tree" Stamp.... think you might be seeing rather a lot of this one in the coming months

Stampin Up.....Not Quite Navy & Kraft Cardstock
Papers: Stampin Up....Bella Bleu
Image: Stampin Up...Lovely As A Tree
Sentiment: Craftwork Cards....Circle Sentiments
Ribbon: Stampin Up Kraft Taffeta
Craftwork Cards.....Card Candy

The Christmas holidays are well and truly over .....all the Christmas stamps and papers have been tidied away for another year....the cubbyhole has been given a bit of spit and polish and it's time to have a play with all the lovely new stash that was set aside in the rush to get the Christmas cards finished.  And we are knee deep in snow...... not unusual for winter in this neck of the woods but....

unless my Knight in Shining Armour appears very soon with his snow plough to rescue me....blimey I may well be marooned in the cubbyhole forever....a perfect excuse to shut myself away and craft to my heart's delight.
Catch up with you all later
Hugs Kath

  1. Hi Kath, Fab card! Love the colours and the gorgeous image.

Don't know whereabouts in Scotland you live but I remember going to Scotland for Hogmanay with my parents many years ago and I had never seen snow like it lol! I think we stayed at Carrbridge (near Aviemore). Happy Days!

  2. Very classy card Kath - and it is nice to see a male card that isn't based on a hobby.

I hope your Knight in Shining Armour can get to you in time for the next trip to M&S. Got to have goodies to eat while you are marooned!

  3. Hi Kath

A gorgeous card. Love it! I thought for a minute there you had had your sewing machine out!!

I used to dream of being snowed in when I was a child so that we couldn't go to school. I used to wish it would snow so much that we couldn't opened the front door .. .. .. I never for one minute contemplated what would happen to all the water when it thawed LOL!!

All the best for 2010 Kath.

    Love Jules xx

  6. what a classy card for a man - the stitching just finishes it off perfectly.
I'm getting a bit fed up with the snow, apart from my wee jaunts with Pepsi every couple of hours I haven't been out of the house in days - can't get the blooming car out. Just hope it goes enough for the kids to get back to school on Tuesday.
    have a great day

  9. Great male card Kath. I think my worst ones are for my three teenage great-nephews. I found some digi stamps at Charmed Cards and Crafts and "Mikey" seems to have gone down well with my boys.

We have loads of snow too. I think I did say once that often we were not too bad but when it was bad here it was really bad!! Since we live in the country though we rarely ever get a road cleared. Even in the nearest village the roads are a disgrace. Don't know how we haven't had a load of people with broken arms or legs. Not safe to walk on the pavement or in the road!!! Nightmare.

  10. Hi Kath, Great card for the men. I am hankering after that set myself. There is so much you can do with it. Love the DP and the kraft and navy go so well together.

  14. Great card, men are always so hard! Don't know if I should wish your Knight in Shinning Armour shows up to rescue you or that he gets lost on the way so you can play to your hearts content in the cubbyhole. Which ever stay warm!
